The Airborne Data Processing and Analysis (ADPAA) package is a free, open-source software package containing a collection of algorithms and scripts to process and analyze data from in-situ instruments deployed on airborne platforms. The ADPAA package was started to process data on the University of North Dakota Citation Research Aircraft but has been used to process data on other platforms. The core of the software is composed of IDL routines and constitutes a complete processing chain - starting with raw probe data recorded in binary format by a Science Engineering Associates (SEA) aircraft data system and processing to calibrated, high-level output in NASA ASCII or NetCDF formatted files. Currently ADPAA only supports the SEA data system; however, support for other data systems could easily be added. ADPAA routines process a range of data, including FSSP probes, 1-D, 2-D, HVPS, CCN counters, CN counters, icing probes, aircraft winds, humidity probes, temperature probes, GPS systems, and liquid water content probes. An IDL based visualization module 'Cplot' allows processed data to be quickly plotted for analysis. Cplot supports both flight and field project level analysis of airborne data.
